MAT-116 Statistical Reasoning

This is a college-level mathematics course designed for career programs, non-transfer degree, and transfer degree students. Emphasis is placed on statistical methods and the associated reasoning skills essential for efficient and effective personal and professional decision making. The course will be covered in 3 modules; Data (collection, representation, and exploration), Probability (calculations, distribution, and implications), and Interference (parameter estimation, one and two sample hypothesis testing). This content is covered through the consideration of real world data sets and applications from business, education, social and natural sciences contexts. This is a terminal course that does not provide a pathway into any other HCC mathematics course. * Mathematics Approved General Education Course.
