BIO-112 Biology of Disease and Pandemics
The emergence of infectious diseases and disease spread to pandemic proportions has occurred repeatedly throughout human history. This course will explore the basic biological principles associated with various types of disease-causing agents, factors that influence disease spread, and the creation of scientific mechanisms and public health measures to control or reduce the spread of disease. Several historical and recent pandemic examples will be discussed. * Biological/Physical Science Approved General Education Course.
