NUR-231 Nursing Care of the Acute and Chronically Ill Adult III

This is a hybrid course and is a sequence to NUR-230. Additional emphasis will be placed on preparing students to assume an even greater responsibility for organizing, managing, and delivering care to clients with life threatening situations or complex health problems. Complex critical care concepts and advanced technical skills are introduced. Focus moves from maintenance and promotion of health to utilization of emergency measures, monitoring devices and life-support equipment. Clinical experiences are provided in a capstone clinical at regional facilities. A minimum exam grade average of 77% and a minimum overall course grade of 77% must be achieved to pass the course. A grade of 90% or above must be attained on a dosage calculations exam in this course.
