THR-101 Introduction to the Theater

This course introduces students to the fundamental elements of theater and its role in society as a medium of storytelling. Students will explore the historical development the art form and professional practice, and gain insight into playwriting, acting, directing, dramaturgy, stage management and design. Students will develop basic competencies in these areas of specialization and discover the power of theater to reflect and shape culture.
