ART-117 Printmaking I

Printmaking I will introduce students to the fine art studio practice of printmaking. This course will cover the primary forms of printmaking and the processes that make each one unique. Actual production will include working with relief, intaglio, collagraph, and monotype. Weekly critiques and art historical research assignments will provide students with the opportunity to develop and communicate specific knowledge gained from each project and develop critical thinking skills. Students will build a portfolio of creative and diverse works. Students are required to submit a minimum of one work for exhibition in the Student Art Showcase which occurs at the close of the semester.
