General Studies, A.A.
The General Studies program is for students who are undecided about a career choice and wish to explore several different areas or who wish flexibility in the selection of courses for transfer to four-year institutions or for specific employment needs. Students must work with an academic advisor to assure that their educational goals are met.
Program Outcomes:
- Exhibit personal and social responsibility by practicing self-direction, persistence, lifelong learning, and responsible citizenship.
- Explore and analyze new ideas, and understand the value of moral sensitivity and cultural diversity.
- Practice intellectual skills such as critical and independent thinking, effective communication, and knowledge acquisition and application.
- Process, analyze, and synthesize scientific and numerical data, and apply mathematical concepts appropriately.
- Apply the research process to access information and use technology to analyze, evaluate, synthesize, and use information resourcefully.
- Apply the knowledge and skills gained from academic discipline to complete personal and professional goals.
