DHY-203 Periodontics and Advanced Procedures

This course provides a continued exploration of theoretical/clinical preparations with emphasis on pathogenesis of periodonal disease, dental hygiene process of care, treatment planning, non-surgical treatment, evaluation of treatment, and maintenance needs of the periodontal patient. Develops research and decision making skills with the use of evidence-based resources relating to risk factors, etiological agents, and current treatment and management modalities including comprehensive periodontal assessments, supplemental diagnostics, periodontal pharmacology, and treatment planning.
