Commercial Music, Certificate

The Commercial Music Certificate is designed to give students foundational knowledge for entrance into a number of music-related employment fields. Students can use this certificate as a first credentialed step toward a Music Concentration, Arts and Sciences, A.A. degree or as an additional credential that complements their primary course of study.

Program Outcomes:

  1. Demonstrate proficiency in basic music theory, including reading treble & bass clef notation, key & time signatures, intervals, and basic music terms.
  2. Create and perform acoustic/electro-acoustic music with technical facility and expressive musicianship.
  3. Demonstrate proficiency in digital audio workstations and related hardware used in the audio field for music, theatre, dance, film, video, or multi-media productions.
  4. Demonstrate an understanding of the general principles of small business operation (e.g. recording studio, teaching studio, musical performance services, etc.)
