Commercial Music, Certificate
The Commercial Music Certificate is designed to give students foundational knowledge for entrance into a number of music-related employment fields. Students can use this certificate as a first credentialed step toward a Music Concentration, Arts and Sciences, A.A. degree or as an additional credential that complements their primary course of study.
Program Outcomes:
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic music theory, including reading treble & bass clef notation, key & time signatures, intervals, and basic music terms.
- Create and perform acoustic/electro-acoustic music with technical facility and expressive musicianship.
- Demonstrate proficiency in digital audio workstations and related hardware used in the audio field for music, theatre, dance, film, video, or multi-media productions.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the general principles of small business operation (e.g. recording studio, teaching studio, musical performance services, etc.)
