DEN-108 Head, Neck, and Oral Anatomy
This course is intended for first-semester dental assistant students planning to apply to the Dental Hygiene Program. The topics include anatomy of the teeth and dental nomenclature, the development, eruption, function, and morphological characteristics of the human deciduous and secondary dentition and a review of the bones and muscles of the orofacial complex. The examination of the temporomandibular joint and function, and dental occlusion classification will complete this course.
Prerequisite
Acceptance into the Dental Assisting program; AND take
RDG-095 or appropriate score on the placement test; AND
MAT-090,
MAT-095, or appropriate score on the placement test.
