DEN-109 Oral Anatomy

This course is intended for first-semester students pursing the Dental Assistant program only (not planning to apply to the Dental Hygiene program). The topics include anatomy of the teeth function, and morphological characteristics of the human deciduous and secondary and dental nomenclature, the development, eruption, dentition, and a review of the bones and muscles of the head and neck. The examination of the temporomandibular joint and function, and dental occlusion classification will complete this course.

Prerequisite

Acceptance into the Dental Assisting program; AND take RDG-095 or appropriate score on the placement test; AND MAT-090, MAT-095, or appropriate score on the placement test.

Corequisite

Take BIO-116, DEN-101, and DEN-109L.
