DHY-108 Head, Neck, and Oral Anatomy

This course is designed for first semester dental hygiene students. The topics include anatomy of the teeth and dental nomenclature, the development, eruption, function, and morphological characteristics of the human deciduous and secondary dentition and a review the bones and muscles of the orofacial complex. The examination of the temporomandibular joint and function, and dental occlusion classification will complete this course.
