ART-117X Printmaking I

Students will be introduced to Printmaking as a fine art practice. Through a series of lectures and studio exercises, students will gain a working knowledge of printmaking and the processes that make each type of printmaking unique. Actual production will include working with relief, intaglio, collagraph, and monoprint. Weekly critiques and art historical research assignments will provide students with the opportunity to develop and communicate specifc knowledge gained from each project and develop critical thinking skills. Students will build a portfolio of creative and diverse works.
