IST-160 Introduction to Security Fundamentals

This is a first course in the fundamentals of information, computer and network security. The course discusses common security issues, identifies methods of assessing systems to identify critical data and presents tools and techniques for securing computers and networks. Course objectives map to the CompTIA Security+ Exam and include general security concepts, communication security, infrastructure security, basics of cryptography and operational/organizational security. May be offered in lecture, hybrid, or online format.
