IST-173 Database Fundamentals

This is an introduction to relational database management systems and their applications. Students learn about types of databases, data modeling, designing relational databases, normalization and relationship, and recent trends in database management. Students will construct and understand SQL (structured query language) statements in order to create, retrieve, insert, delete and secure data from database (create simple and compound conditions, computed fields, build-in functions, subqueries, grouping, join tables, union operations, updating tables, create tables).
