Sociology Concentration, Arts and Sciences, A.A.

The Sociology program provides a sequence of courses for students who plan to transfer into upper division programs in sociology. This program includes electives in anthropology, economics, world languages, geography, history, human services, political science, psychology, math, and sociology. Students should identify an intended transfer institution as early as possible and complete appropriate courses.

Program Outcomes:

  1. Be able to apply sociological concepts to provide a deeper explanation of the complexities of the world impacting societies in the 21st century.
  2. Identify and explain cultural variation in values and practices of diverse cultures, and ways in which social realities are experienced uniquely among different societies.
  3. Be able to identify, interpret, and apply various sociological research methodologies.
