2025-2026 Academic Catalog

Network Administration Concentration, Information Systems Technology, A.A.S.

The Network Administration concentration provides students with necessary skills for careers as network technicians and engineers. Courses concentrate in areas of building, maintaining and troubleshooting computer networks; configuring switches and routers; and securing and protecting networks and data from attacks. The curriculum includes preparation for A+. Network+, and CCNA certifications. This A.A.S. program is a career degree, preparing students for the workforce after graduation. However, students can opt to transfer to a four-year program rather than start a career, but should confer with advisors and transferring institutions for specific requirements.

Program Outcomes:

  1. The student will demonstrate the ability to navigate, install, configure, and troubleshoot various operating systems and applications.
  2. The student will demonstrate problem-solving skills in building, repairing and upgrading various types of devices.
  3. The student will demonstrate the ability to configure both wired and wireless networks.
  4. The student will demonstrate the ability to configure Cisco network equipment.
  5. The student will demonstrate advanced networking features.
